This Morning's Dermot O'Leary accidentally calls Alison Hammond a bitch live on air

Whoops!

Dermot O'Leary may be a well-seasoned presenter, but he accidentally let slip some bad language while presenting This Morning today (July 18).

The former X Factor host is presenting the ITV daytime show alongside Alison Hammond while Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield are on their summer break.

Showing a clip from his early days on Big Brother's Little Brother, Alison swooned over Dermot's shorter hairstyle.

"You looked hot back in the day. Look at you with a bald head," she said. "You should so go back to a bald head. Why don't you shave your head off? Look how fit you looked."

He replied: "Let's call my wife now and see if she'd like me to shave my head off. See how well that would go down."

"You were so good at that show," Alison added.

Dermot then joked: "Just at that show?". When Alison responded "yeah", he raised his water glass and laughed: "Such a bitch."

Alison quickly apologised for his language, but struggled to keep a straight face for the rest of the segment.

It was recently rumoured that the duo had a feud, but ITV have since spoken out about the reports.

"Despite the challenges of starting their on-screen partnership during a pandemic, Alison and Dermot have developed a firm friendship and their chemistry has proved a ratings success.

"Since the pandemic ended, the pair are now able to enjoy socialising together post the show and have enjoyed spending time with each other's families too."

Josie Gibson also responded to the claims, adding: "Those two are like brother and sister."

"I don't know what's been written but they really do get on. Dermot worships Alison and Alison loves Dermot," she continued. "She bought him a lovely watch not long ago, and they go round to each other's houses for dinner.

"You don't buy people watches and go round to their house if you don't like them, do you?"
