Enola Holmes 2 confirmed to arrive on Netflix later this year

She's on her way.

Millie Bobby Brown fans won't have to wait much longer to see her throwing punches in Victorian outfits in the Enola Holmes sequel.

The Stranger Things star was previously announced to return for the already-confirmed second chapter on Sherlock Holmes' perceptive, rebellious little sister – a character first introduced in the YA book series of the same name by Nancy Springer.

The upcoming film will stream later this year, Netflix has confirmed in a tweet today (July 18). A release date hasn't been announced yet, but watch this space as we'll update you once we know more.

"I can't wait to collaborate again with my Enola Holmes family! Enola holds a special place in my heart – she's strong, fearless, intelligent and brave. I look forward to fans seeing how her journey continues!," Brown said when the sequel was announced in May 2021.

Enola Holmes director Harry Bradbeer has once again stepped behind the camera for the sequel, which started filming in October 2021 and wrapped in January this year.

Alongside Brown, The Witcher's Henry Cavill will reprise the role of famed detective Sherlock, while Pistol star Louis Partridge will return as Tewkesbury.

In the first film, released in 2020, Brown as Enola had to uncover the mystery surrounding the disappearance of her mother Eudoria (Helena Bonham Carter).

The cast of the first instalment included Sam Claflin in the role of Mycroft Holmes, Burn Gorman as Linthorn, Susan Wokoma as Edith, as well as Killing Eve stars Adeel Akhtar and Fiona Shaw as Lestrade and Miss Harrison.

Bonham Carter, Akhtar and Wokoma are all appearing in the sequel, which also stars newcomers including Dune's Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Fargo and Harry Potter's David Thewlis, Bridgerton's Hannah Dodd and Peaky Blinders' Abbie Hern in undisclosed roles.

Enola Holmes is available to watch on Netflix. A sequel is expected to debut on the streamer later this year.
